<p>i've covered french 1 in 7th & 8th grade & i have a good grasp on it. i love the language, but hate the teacher now. that's the only reason i ever get frustrated with it.</p>
<p>so which would you suggest? i am also really interested in italian but i'm not sure if i should continue at my first foreign language.</p>
<p>id say french. you might like the teacher next year. who knows? besides, taking italian doesn't guarantee that you won't get a bad teacher.</p>
<p>it depends on which language you like more. if you have the time, take both!</p>
<p>i suggest taking french- it will show your interest if you stick with it and take it to a high level- but dont take it if u cant handle the class</p>
<p>At least where I go, the freshman in any language I class (as we also offer language I in eight grade) tend to be...less than brilliant/motivated. I'd say continue in French, unless you're willing to have a class full of people likely less motivated than you.</p>
<p>yea, i agree. if i really wanted to, i could always do it as an elective.</p>
