Sorry if this is a stupid question, but do i-banks recruit a your senior year or before that? thanks

Juniors and seniors

Mostly juniors for internships, and of course seniors for full time.

GS, MS, and JPM recruit sophomores too.

^but mostly URM

Generally speaking, summer analyst internships are given to juniors with the intention of offering many of those interns FT positions come graduation the following year. For everyone else, FT recruiting is done during the first half of senior year for BBs and the like (small boutiques and such recruit all year as needed - many don’t have official incoming classes). Some banks have internship opps for sophs and some sophs are fortunate enough to land a SA position as sophs getting a big jump on everyone else. The bulk of the people, however, go through SA recruiting as juniors and FT recruiting as seniors.
