what

is the difference between Cheddar Cheese and American Cheese?

I always think of American cheese as those Kraft sliced cheeses–basically “fake” processed cheese. I think it’s supposed to be a blend of cheddar and Swiss(?)

And cheddar is “real” cheese.

This is just my uninformed guess. I’m sure Google would provide factual answers.

Cheese is gross.

I enjoy cheese, but not when it has holes in it. Something about those holes just makes me weary…

^I’m confused. Does it make you weary or wary? I am not nitpicking, I am actually wondering, because I have met people who feel lethargic when confronted with cheese.

It makes me weary too, which makes me wary.

I love cheese! What’s wrong with you guys? (lol, joking.)

Some cheese are really nasty though. o.o I tried some French cheese once and i couldn’t get the stench out for a whole day. I felt embarrassed whenever i talked. :(

I think American Cheese is essentially a medley of chesses with a bunch of preservatives added in.

Whereas Cheddar Cheese is actual cheese.

american cheese is pretty good melted on some toast, but otherwise cheddar is the bomb

American Cheese isn’t actually cheese, it is basically whey protein that is transformed into cheese through the actually cheese making process. Their colors are only very similar or the same because as Americans we expect cheese to be colored that certain orange way…lol.

I meant wary. Sorry for incorrect word usage.

I hate nacho cheese and Velveeta.
Fresh Formaggio Mozzarella is so delcious.

i’m legit obsessed with feta [sharp cheddar and gouda are good too, but not smoked gouda. ew.]

When I was little I was obsessed with Mozzarella. But only the fake shredded variety. Now, I eat the real mozzarella, but I miss all the artificial flavoring at times :[

Then I had a feta cheese phase after trying it in Panera’s Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich. (the cilantro hummus is also pretty good btw).

Add now I’m really in to asiago cheese. Cheese is so yummy.

I need to go to panera bread.

also, at thanksgiving for fancy hors d’ouevres we had this cheese that had bacon rolled into it.

I’m so mad at Panera. They got rid of my favorite portabello sandwhich (at least the one I go to did. I don’t know if all of them did.)

I freaking loved that sandwich.
They also make the absolute best chicken noodle soup and upside down pineapple cake.

Question: Why can’t they just make pineapple cake right side up? Why is it always upside down?

I’m actually not crazy about mushrooms. They taste earthy to me.

I have no idea why it’s made upside down. Maybe because of how it has to be made? But theirs is really freaking good.

I’m going to make millions by making right side up pineapple cake. It will revolutionize the pineapple based cake industry. =D
