what?!

I'm talking with an indian boy right now, He is saying that he got a scholarship at MIT for the class of 2016, is this possible? He also said that he will participate at iPho 2011, representing India.
I asked for SAT scores or TOEFL, but he said that he had not taken these exams.

??

He may have meant that he’s applying external scholarships towards MIT.

But, uh, if he said 2016, and he hasn’t taken any standardized tests, I think he might be pulling your leg.

Me: “How did you get a full scholarship for MIT ?”
The guy: “It was through an contest held in april at cape canevaral.”

:|

He is pulling your leg.

MIT doesn’t give out scholarships. They meet your full financial need.

In general, confusion can arise because MIT gives out need-based financial awards, which they refer to as “scholarships.” Many people assume that “scholarships” refers to merit-based awards.

But it sounds like this guy is messing with you.

Or he is referring to one of several other schools with the acronym “MIT.”

Haha Maharashtra Institute of Technology!
