Whatcha Doing Labor Day Weekend?!

I appreciate all the recommendations! Have begun researching

Got rained chased off of picking tomatoes this morning and am now inside hoping we get far more rain. If so, I’ll be doing housework. If not, I’ll be out watering plants.

Later in the day I have young pony school too.

Otherwise, I’m being lazy with no regrets. It’s a nice holiday for that.

@ChoatieMom That sounds like an ideal fall weather day to me! I will actually be in your neck of the woods (Portland, ME) this coming weekend for a wedding. I hope it doesn’t rain, but also hope for some cooler fall temps.

It has been so dry at my house - it looks like fall! Grass has gone dormant/dry, dead leaves everywhere. Fortunately I think we are finally getting rain tonight and tomorrow.

We got back from our quick trip to NY yesterday afternoon. Team didn’t win, but S had his best game ever, despite being out with a back injury for the last two weeks and only had two days of practice before his game.

I had been looking forward to recuperating from all the socializing (I’m an introvert), but the midshipman we sponsor came over yesterday to do laundry and sleep. He asked to stay the night and chill out here today. Fortunately he is low key and just like having one of my own kids here, so I don’t need to play host. Going to read on the porch this afternoon for a bit.

Unfortunately, cancelling a visit to see our D21 and quarantining. :confounded:

Unless things have changed, Ocean Grove was the definition of a genteel beach town when we rented a house there way back when. Victorian houses, shuffleboard courts, beach closed until noon on Sunday, dry town, etc. But Asbury Park and Bradley Beach were just a stroll down the boardwalk.

Yes, still that way. The main difference (within the last 10-15 years) is that Asbury Park has undergone a renaissance, which has brought more crowds to all surrounding areas.
