<p>Okay so right now im deciding between a lot of colleges. Im going to play D1 mens volleyball and have been offered by 7 out of the top 15 schools in the nation for mens volleyball (all d1, and one d3 who plays d1).</p>

<p>Heres my dilemma. I do NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT want to be roomed with somebody who is non-athletic. People who are athletic especially being there for a d1 sport relate to me perfect. Smart, Like to party, Work out, just being more chill in general.</p>

<p>(this is my view from my 17 years on this planet, I am not saying I am right).</p>

<p>So Im not sure if I can apply to be roomed with somebody who plays sports? Furthermore, if i could apply, could I go further to ask if I can be roomed with a TEAMMATE?</p>

<p>My sister just started her 2nd year of college. She said if she could go back she would just have roomed with a teammate to begin with. She basically said, her roomate had nothing to do with her social life and that she made her friends based off of the team and there friends ect.. So It would have just made the first few weeks even that much easier.</p>

<p>I would have to agree.</p>

<p>So, Can i request a "specific roommate?"</p>

<p>Most schools send out a questionnaire asking about your habits for rooming, and they usually ask if you are an athlete and if you would like to room with another athlete. Also, if they let you request a roommate, get in contact with other incoming recruits on the volleyball team on Facebook and talk to them and see any sound like people you could room with.</p>
