What's a good apartment to stay at?

I'm planning to find an apartment with a friend and was wondering which one to choose

I don't want one that has a high crime rate (important)

Close to school

I want to know this too. Bump.

I don’t know what the stats on crime rate is as Riverside at night is not the safest place anyway. Names have change UCR has purchased some apartments I used to live in so I can’t give a proper recommendation…I got robbed by my roommate who I’ve been good friends with since 4th grade, so you really never know.

If you want something safe, go for the apartments that have gates to the premises, I’m looking at google maps for approximate addresses, in terms of gated apt and close to campus, check these out.

-1226 W. Linden
-Stonehaven on Canyon Crest and Blaine
-SummerRidge is not gated, but it is right across the street from the police dept and close to campus.

Definitely stay closer to campus, the further you are the more ghetto it becomes, plus it’s generally safer when majority of the tenants are college students.

Don’t do bannockburn, unless they have changed it, the place’s got infestation issues during the summer

“I got robbed by my roommate who I’ve been good friends with since 4th grade, so you really never know.”

What?! how did you even figure out it was your roommate? did you catch him red-handed?

read my post on “Help Me Decide If I Should Indeed Attend Riverside” I had the worst roommates every year in college

What are the best on-campus apartments?

I don’t THINK there are much choices on “on-campus” apartments since all the university owned/operated apartments are just right outside of campus (I don’t consider that “on”) only on-campus housing are the dorms, the houses for students with families and I believe Glen-Mor would be the “best” only because it’s new ([Inside UCR: Och Aye – Two More Scottish Names to Learn](http://www.insideucr.ucr.edu/cgi-bin/display.cgi?id=575))

Go to the bottom of this page to see the list of the UCR apartments:

Hmm. I’m looking at all the rates for the apartments. Is Bannockburn really THAT bad?

are you a feshman or a transfer. Freshmen arent allowed apartments.

going to be a sophomore

I’m a transfer.

There are apartments that are close to school that are MUCH cheaper than UCR owned apartments. They’re all about $800 per person… I mean you get your own room and restroom(?), but it’s not worth that price at all. My friend, who lives in Sterling, shares the apartment with 4 people… and all four of them pay $750. That’s like a total of $3000 -_- You could rent a NICE house with that money.

^^Yeahh, but I don’t know anyone yet that I could move in with.
