730 is an awesome score. if you feel like you could do better, go for it.

Check the percentile you're in with that score. Then decide if you want to retake it. IT better be a high one for Brown, etc.

eh, sat 2 scores aren't super important unless you blow it or do amazing. Math 2 is the only one that can be semi important and that's only for certain majors and certain schools.

a 730 on chem is high enough not to negatively effect you if you were near the border but still above it, but its not high enough to push you over the border if you were a little under.

Retake it. If you're not satisfied, prep and do it again.

what about for scores in non math for liberal arts colleges? is <700 bad? i got 620 history (oops) and 680 biology. will those affect me negatively?

Depends on how selective the liberal arts college is. You could try looking at CollegeSearch on collegeboard.com to see what the average SAT scores are, and then guess that the SAT Subject test scores are roughly the same. If you get around their range, you're ok. If you got above that, you're great. Less than that, not so good. And it also depends on how much they even care about SAT Subject Tests.

Wrong. People generaly score higher on SAT2s than on the SAT. Generally 750+ is expected for top schools since you can get like 10 wrong and get a 750+...
