I got a 29 on my first time; how much more would I need to improve when I apply to NYU CAS?

29-31 is considered good.

The NYU Common Data set says:

ACT Composite — 25th %ile 28 — 75th %ile 31

[NYU > Office of Institutional Research and Program Evaluation > About Us](http://www.nyu.edu/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/cmd276/fact.book.data/submit_factbook2.pl?view=3&year=20083&cdspage=c)

All other things being equal (though they never are) you should have about a 30 to have a 50/50 chance at admission.

36 is probably a safe score (i’m just guessing here)

i got in with a 28 lol

Yeah I got waitlisted with a 31

:O(

make me feel da so bad.

/\ssassin- For CAS?

I’ll probably get the score up to 30-31, with which I’d be very happy. Thanks for the info, everyone!

i got waitlisted with a 31 for stern

I would say a 28 is acceptable, a 30 average, and 32+ competitive.

dtc727,

That’s Stern, a top 10, extremely competitive business school, though. I’m going for CAS, in Journalism/Economics

My S got waitlisted with a 32

I think it might help if posters would add the school within NYU. :)
