So I took the SAT today and for some reason I had plenty of time leftover after my 3 examples. I was debating whether I should include a 4th example, but in the end I decided to have a strong conclusion instead. For future references, what would have been better: 3 examples and a strong conclusion, or 4 examples and a decent conclusion?

Bump, can someone answer this please?

3 examples and a strong conclusion for sure.

Keep in mind that these readers only have about a minute to read each essay, thus the essay with the strongest concluding paragraph will leave the best impression in their minds. On the other hand, adding examples has diminishing returns, and the difference between three and four will be negligible.

I for one tend to write with one example that is explained in great depth, and I have known many people who have achieved great success writing this way. If you check on the collegeboard website, their example of a ‘6’ essay only uses one example as well.
