What's going to happen to me if I recieve a 1.3 GPA this quarter

There is a very real possibility I may recieve a 1.3 GPA this quarter. If that is the case, my cumulative GPA will be 2.995. This is the first time I've ever failed a class at UCSD. This is the first time I've ever gotten a GPA below 2.0 in one quarter. I didn't pass physics 2B and chem 6B. I am recieving both a Pell Grant and CalGrant.

Will I be put on academic probation? Will I be subject to disqualification? Will I get kicked out of UCSD? Will I loose my financial aid? What's going to happen to me?

It means you should change your name from chemeng66 to polisci66.

i think below 1.5 is “subject to academic disqualification”
i think for the first time you get this notice, it will be more similar to “academic probation” so next quarter you just need to get above 2.0 cumulative and term.

i don’t know about financial aid.

you won’t lose your financial aid as long as you have taken at least 36 units by the end of spring quarter (an average of 12 units/quarter).

you won’t get kicked out of ucsd.

you’ll be fine as long as you pass your classes next quarter.

don’t worry about it unless it begins to happen more often.

That’s pretty harsh purest :stuck_out_tongue: But I do think it brings up an important question, why is a chemical engineering major failing general chemistry? You might want to rethink your major.

oopurestoo’s comment made me laughed so freaking hard.

when spring break is over, you just talk it over with your college’s academic counselor and the fin aid office. they probably deal with students in your situation quite often.

OoPurestOo, I lol’d. But sadly true, so welcome to poli.
