What's helping you cope with depression the most?

Yes, I'm depressed and in college. Are they separable? lol, just a joke :). I'm on medication and personally don't like therapy. I haven't met someone skilled enough I guess. I usually opt for reading books on cognitive therapy all by myself. Would like to hear about your own experience...

I've been depressed for several months, although I'm getting better. One of the things I was so depressed over was my ex, and since I've made the move to Get Over It, once and for all, I've felt so much better. i was in therapy for a while but it didn't help very much.

Prayer helps...if you keep doing it over and over. He seems to either be death the first handful of times you do it or just gets sick of hearing ya constantly :D

At least fans of the NCAA 08 series have something to get excited about in the next few days. That can be a depression curer :)

not medicine. it did nothing for me. its a temporary help but you have to find out whats making you depressed or what caused it, and change that. like for me it was my low self esteem. therepy helps a lot if you get the right person. but for me, professional help and medication did nothing for me but make me worse. i ended up skipping 1/3 of a semester of high school because i wouldnt get out of bed. =</p>

i dont really know what made me better though. i just started making myself go out and telling myself im just as good as anyone else out there, and i began to get better.

When you are depressed, one of the best things you can do is do something nice for someone else.

Get outside, run or hike, and get the blood flowing. Start lifting weights works well too. Hell, meatheads always seem happy.

Sorry. I have no advice for the OP but I think some people in this thread are having trouble distinguishing between the human emotion depression and the clinical diagnosis of depression.

This advice should not be taken seriously:

Get a girlfriend/boyfriend and/or drugs (alcohol counts).
