I am considering transferring to HMC in the fall as a physics major. Can you share a transfer experience with me please. By the way, when I transfer I will be about 9 units behind the sophomores and I plan on finishing in 2 years.

In my memory, I know of no transfers to the college. Maybe someone can verify that with actual data for the past years, but the college is fairly strict in terms of its core requirements. If you weren’t at Mudd the whole time, you haven’t been taking the core. If you haven’t taken the core, they don’t know you’re prepared for upper-level classes.

Also, the school is currently overpopulated; there are not enough rooms for the upperclassmen. They probably aren’t eager to take in more people.

Sorry to be discouraging, but this is probably going to be a fairly tricky endeavour. Maybe you should sure talk to the college and ask them if they think they’ll take in any transfers.

One of the ex-CC regulars transferred in from a UC, but this was five years ago, he had been admitted as a freshman, and had been keeping an eye on the requirements.

Looking at the common data set…
In 2009-2010, 70 applied for transfer, 1 was accepted but did not enroll.
In 2008-2009 , 75 applied, 7 were accepted, 3 enrolled.
In 2007-2008 , 43 applied, 5 were accepted, 3 enrolled.
