"You sign up for the B & B online. Your packet of info that came a couple weeks ago has the address. You will have to wait until you get your airline ticket from the Academy because you need your flight info to register for the B & B."

I don't think I've received such a packet, unless it's the offer of appointment which so far I have only found details about orientation... I didn't send them my decision to go yet either, because I'm waiting on a result for my medical waiver... and what's worse is that I have heard that DoDMERB is slllloooooooowww and if I don't end up getting into USAFA I want to be able to say yes to other schools in time... currently, my medical status is "disqualified" but my candidate status is "appointment offered" Is this possible why I don't know about the packet with the B&B info?

If you have been offered an appointment, you had to have received a medical waiver. You need to check with the admissions office about your medical status.

Great American is right. Unless there was an incredible screw-up, you must be in (congratulations!) and HAVE a medical waiver -- unless your appointment letter has conditional language that says "pending medical waiver" or some such language. Perhaps they just haven't updated your med status yet officially.

I'm in the same sort of boat but backwards. I'm medically qualified and have been passed, but it says that my file is incomplete. I turned in all the forms months ago, but they just haven't processed them all yet. I've called and they have told me that they just haven't gotten around to it yet. But the mass mailings went out last week and I didn't even get a letter, so I have no idea whats going on with my application.

Any advice? How do I get the admissions people to review my file 2.5 months before I-Day? It's driving me crazy not knowing whether I'll be accepted or rejected or what. I just want to know.

Not to ignore your question, pantherstudios, but this is the order in which you will receive mail once you have an offer of appointment:

letter explaining that you have been accepted

appointment kit (contains offer of appointment to sign, information about BCT, etc.)

appointee kit (comes after you sign the offer of appointment, contains more information about BCT, the Academy, you will get your PO Box number, you will need to send in measurements for uniforms, etc.)

E-ticket (they will mail you your ticket to USAFA for I-day)

And that's where I'm at so far. Hope that clears some things up. :)

if you turn in your signed offer of appointment at orientation, is it possible to get the appointment kit there as well? i think i saw some mention this on one of the previous pages of this thread

I haven't received 3 and 4 yet, and the letter in packet 2 said my appointee status was conditional on my medical status, which was still pending at the time, shortly after I received packet 2, I was medically disqualified. So then I sent in a medical waiver, and now I have my fingers crossed...

i accepted my appointment in january, though, so i should have the kit by now. so i guess the question is, should i try and bully them into sending it already, or wait until orientation and deal with it then? ok now the other problem, would i call admissions, or who?

hornetguy, you said you got your appt. kit at orientation. had you already sent the papers saying you were accepting the appointment or did you do every transaction there?

I had already sent that I was coming. I pretty much signed the paper and sent it back out to accept the appointment right after I opened it. No brainer for me.

jlb11 - I think your best bet would be to call your counselor at the Academy. Godspeed to your packet! I know what it's like to be waiting on pins and needles for the next peice of mail, even when you're already in.

it's a no brianer for me too, i just got the appointment offer in the mail 2 days ago and i think im just gonna hand in the accepted offer at orientation (i believe they said we were able to do that in the orientation brochure). is it possible to hand that in and get your appointment kit all at once?

sorry to interrupt, but if you recieve an appointment to the academy does it mean you are in for sure? Or do you have to pass that in order to become fully accepted?

I you have recieved an offer of appointment and accept it you are in providing nothing happens between now and June 28th. On June 29th all bets are off and we belong to the Cadre.
