Whats Minumum Sat Score For Ucberkeley?

is a 1900 ok
?

If you come from a low social-economic area then I'd say yeah. But of course, the SAT IIs such as Math IIC need to be high if you want to get into a science major.

SO if you are low-income you can get away with a lower SAT score?

The middle 50% range for Berkeley:
SAT Reasoning Verbal: 580 - 710 99%
SAT Reasoning Math: 620 - 740 99%

Out-of-state applicants should have pretty high scores (better than 1300 M+V). In-state applicants and those with hooks (minority, low-income, athlete, legacy) should be fine with 1300.

I have 1400 M+V (680 M, 720 V) and am low-income but Asian. Will that cut it?

Are you in-state?

"SO if you are low-income you can get away with a lower SAT score?"

If your entire area is low-income, yes. But most places are pretty economically diverse.

If you have over 4.1 weighted and 2030 SAT then you have a good chance.

" In-state applicants and those with hooks (minority, low-income, athlete, legacy) should be fine with 1300."

I'm pretty sure the UCs don't consider legacy or race in admissions

Do they accept a lot of kids from the east coast, especially kids with numbers like whoamg said?

Yes.
10 char

I thought the UC system had an index that they use to determine eligibility.

Can a 1570/2250 make up for a 3.7 GPA?

Yes, it can.

wheres the index?!

Top 1/2% of class w/ 2000+ = in.

UCs don't us racial bias in admissions. They do use socio-economic factors that can boost chances.

true story. My brother is at berkeley right now, as it is welcome week and school for him starts on monday.

Anyway, he got in. He got a 1600 on the new SAT. M + V + W.

His essays were extremely good, so that's how I think he got in. I don't think berkeley really cares about SAT scores.

Someone must have slipped up.

Actually, Berkeley cares a lot about the standardized test scores. Most of the class is filled with people with high stats. However, they do have a percentage of the class who have mitigating circumstances such as OHgiraffe's brother along with the recruited athletes who typically do not have the academic profile as the normal applicants.
