A Ph.D in Physics or an M.D.?

M.D for sure

They’re both on the god-tier when it comes to academia.

Be as respectable as Stephen Hawking with a Ph.D

Both at the same time

a double major from your local community college. Wins every time.

PhD in physics. That **** is rough.

And getting your M.D isn’t rough?
I wonder if you should also consider the difficulty of the job(s) that follow.

In any case, it all depends on the person.

No, physics in general is rough. Take it to the PhD level and I’d be surprised you didn’t go insane in the process.

I’m not saying physics isn’t rough, just saying getting your M.D. is at least just as rough.

My Dad has a PhD in physics. Just thought I’d share.

I would argue otherwise.

Not disrespecting an M.D. - at that level, any degree is very respectable. But in my opinion getting a PhD in physics would just be more difficult.

^^Wow, good for him.
^And that’s your opinion, which is totally ok. Hell, I’m not especially good at either medicine or physics, so both would be extremely tough for me :P

I agree with you completely. Just look at the number of Medical Doctors vs. People with a PhD in Physics.

^Just because more people have the degree doesn’t make it easier, it just means more people want to do it. Honestly, doctors are more important than physicists in a society (when you get down to basic needs).

That is true. I still think a PhD in Physics is more impressive.

Again, it’s a matter of opinion.

PhD in physics since it requires much higher intelligence.

My dad has a PhD in physics too twinz

Stephen Hawking is the world’s biggest dbag, don’t get a PhD just to spite him.

Depends on the concentration. A Ph.D who does research in some obscure aspect of quantum mechanics would be (to me) more respectable, since it’s quite probable that he or she has already completely lost it.

“A Ph.D in physics! Amazing, what do you do?”
"… Eh, I’m not quite sure. "
