What's next?

D18 submitted the her completed Common App last night including the essays. She noticed today that one LOR still said “started” but not submitted turns out there were technical issues but it got resolve before lunch today . SAT and AP scores and transcripts have already been sent.

Should she contact her school rep and the National Scholar’s office and let them know that she’s submitted everything?

Nope, you’re good to go. Give it a couple weeks. If you haven’t heard back by December, maybe shoot them an e-mail but now that it’s all submitted you can exhale and be happy that you’re done!

Just in case this is useful, all your D has to do for the Honors College essays is write “National Merit.” Nothing else. Hopefully that will save her time, if she hasn’t written them already.

Congrats!

Thanks @WoolScarves D18 said she got an email from OU last night saying they had received her application.
That is helpful about the Honors College, one less essay is good! I was looking at the requirements to apply to the school of music. She’ll need to write a 250 word essay describing the role of music in your life, in your future, and how a university education will help you accomplish your goals. That’s a lot to fit into 250 words!

I found the requirements for the school of music here:
http://www.ou.edu/content/finearts/music/apply.html

But I couldn’t find the actual application for the school of music, any idea where to look? I know she can’t actually apply until she’s accepted to OU, maybe that’s why I can’t find it?

I think that you are correct. Once she’s accepted she should be given access to apply to the school of music.

@3scoutsmom - on the web page you noted in your post #2, did you try clicking on the red bar part way down the page that says “Step 2: Apply to the School of Music”? When I first took a look at the page the red bar just looked like a section heading to me, but it’s actually a link to a form for “OU School of Music Undergraduate Application”.

Thank you @tikimom! I would never have thought that was a link!!!

D got a “thank you for applying” post card in the mail today, guess that’s progress… I’m starting to wonder how much OU spends in postage
