<p>I'm not a student, but here's why Hamilton was one of the first colleges I put on my list: (These are things the other colleges don't have, to my knowledge)</p>
<p>No distribution requirements. I don't think this is true of any of the others, and it's definitely not true of Midd.
There is a pit of alligators. Seriously.

<p>It also has all of the pros that the other elite LACs do. As for those other schools, Midd is awesome (the only one of the three you mentioned on my list)-I've never been to Bates, but Colby is in a gross town. Colby has no advantages over Hamilton.</p>

<p>^Interesting-well, it does allegedly have a substance abuse issue more prevalent than most others, but I don't know how valid this is. I've also heard starkly contrary reviews about the kids- some people say they're stuck up richkids, some say they're amiable and down-to-earth.</p>
