I'm looking for a good Spanish book to strengthen my spanish reading skills. Can anyone recommend a book, preferably fiction?

I don't know if this would be the best content-wise, but the Harry Potter books are easily available in Spanish, they're simple enough that you can understand them, and you can read the books in English too just so you know that you're understanding everything.

I guess it depends on your level of reading...?
For something rather challenging, I loved Gabriel Garcia Marquez's "One Hundred Years of Solitude" after I finally managed to painstakingly translate chapter after chapter. I hated doing it, but it was so worth it in the end. I went on the read the english version, and then I had a Marquez-fest for the next six months. :P
Easier: A simplified version of Don Quixote. I found mine in the spanish section of the children's room in the local library. :)

Don Quijote rocked

Was Don Quixote (the Spanish version0 really hard to read. Btw, what is the book about.

I just came across this great short story collection and MUST bring your attention to it. The stories 1) are not too complex to read and 2) give a great insight into Latin American society. I would definitely recommend this read. I also think it’s really great to support a young author like her. You can obtain her book at her website [url=http://www.alicia-robinson.com]Alicia Robinson, author of Por qu

Wow, Harry Potter is pretty dense. I would suggest something mroe like Cuautemoc Cardenas. he has some great books like Sangre de Campion. Also Isabel Allende’s trilogy for teenagers. It is below you in terms of content but at least you will understand it. Cajas de carton is another easy read.
