What's the best CUNY school?

I was planning on applying to Cornell, but sadly I don’t think I will be accepted. My SAT scores are really high, but my GPA is low (3.5) and my application isn’t perfect. I’m going to apply to other schools in New York though. What’s the best CUNY school? I’m thinking of applying to Hunter, Baruch, and Queens. Which one is the best? Which one has the most rigorous academics? Or are they all the same?

The CUNY’s have different focuses and you should look at each school’s website to see what they offer. With your grades, you might qualify for one of the honors programs. For instance, Baruch is known for its business and accounting programs, Hunter and Lehman for nursing and teaching, Queens for general liberal arts, education and it has a top music school. You should also consider where you are going to live and how you are going to commute.

Hunter has almost all of the liberal arts majors. It was originally a teachers’ college, but now, although still strong for teaching and social work, it has everything. Brooklyn College is also very strong. What are your SATs? you might want to consider applying to the Macauley Honors College.

Hunter is good for liberal arts and nursing, stony brook is good too, and if you’re interested in business or anything of that sort, baruch is great. You should visit their campuses too! And try for macaulay honors as ^ said. Good luck!

Stony Brook is not a CUNY school. It is SUNY.
