What's the best dorm?

I was wondering what the best dorm to try to get in would be or at least some good dorms or bad ones?

What are you looking for? Coed? Singles vs Doubles? Quiet vs Party atmosphere? My son chose Hoover (South Green)- not the most modern - because of its mod layout and because it was easy to get a Singles room. (plus, it’s an Honors dorm).

I’m looking for double and I would like at least a renovated if possible. Other than that I would like it to be somewhat located near the school of business.

@jack4145 are you joining a Living Learning Community, or whatever it’s called?

My son is joining the communications LLC. Next year this will be in Washington Hall in the East Green. But these are not the newer dorms.

I have heard that South Green is both nicer/newer and more social/party oriented. But it is the furthest away from the academic buildings.

Here is some basic information.

East Green seems to have the most traditional style dorms and is closest to the College Green, albeit down the hill. Some of them have been renovated, having central air others have window A/C. South has a mix of dorms. They have the newest dorms but also a number of dorms built in the 70’s and 80’s that do not have AC. West is closest to the Engineering school. Our D originally wanted to live in Johnson Hall which is an Honors dorm. After looking at the above information she is contemplating being in Lincoln (her first major is Dance) since it has laundry facilities. She doesn’t like the idea of traipsing outside just to do laundry.
