My brother got a letter from northeastern university college of professional studies. I research if this was a real college and not one of those commercial places like itt tech or devry. I found out that this is a really good college to be at. His letter say's that he can earn a master's degree in as few as 12 months. How is that possible, I am sure he would need a bachelor degree before getting his masters. If he does need a bachelor degree first what is the catch still for the 12 months masters degree and for a BA its 18 months fast track.

I want in also unless this is for professional who have been working in the field only. My brother never graduated from college, but he does have a decent salary of around 36k a year. He said he didn't apply to northeastern or how they got his name.

Well I’m not sure about the “rules” of getting a masters without a bachelors, but I know that CPS is used a lot for people who have been working for a while and want to further their education.

As for the time thing, that’s completely normal. A lot of masters programs are designed for two years, which is 24 months WITHOUT taking summer classes. Programs that claim to be fast track are usually full-time programs (so you take more classes and usually can’t hold a full-time job at the same time) that have you take summer classes as well.

For example a usual MBA could take 5 or more years to finish part-time and around 2 years full-time. Northeastern has an MBA/MSA fast track program however that gets you the TWO degrees in 15 months (with a heavy course load and summer classes). This is a graduate business school program though, but the concept for CPS is similar.

CPS really is a good school though and it can be a great opportunity for people to get a degree if they didn’t get one after high school.

CPS requires a bachelor’s degree before being admitted to any master’s degree.

The 18 month fast track bachelor’s degree is for someone who already has an associate degree (usually 60 credits) from a community college:
