What's the chance for low gpa to un-impacted major?

What's the chance for a 2.96 gpa to get into a non-impacted major in UCI or UCSB?

i would also like to know. which non-impacted major are you referring to?

SB, don’t think so. My friend got into UCI History major with a 2.76–but he is extremely struggling because the classes there are way more rigorous and intense. He was waitlisted first before being accepted.

I think if your pre-reqs are completed, your Major GPA is over 3.0, and some impressive ECs with a solid well-written personal statement then there is definitely a chance!!! I mean, you hear about the odd case of a 3.1 non-impacted getting into UCLA so I don’t see how this would be impossible. Be sure to show an upward trend in grades!

I applied to UCI Psychology and Social Behavior with a 2.96 and the math prerequisites currently in progress. However, Assist.org states:

“This major does not require completion of prerequisites for admission as a transfer student.”

Does anyone know if Psych and Social Behavior is an impacted major? I tried searching but couldn’t find an answer…

@Dancemasterv. You don’t need to take it in order to be accepted. But you will need to take it at UCI.

So, you will take a lot of advance math classes at UCI. Just note that you will be further back in line for admittance because those with higher GPA will be in front of you.
