anyone have any experience or knowledge of the NYU dating scene? Thanks

I think you should preemptively buy some Trojans in bulk packaging lol

Is it really that easy NuclearPakistan1? I hope so… I’m going to be a Tisch straight male (surprise!). does anyone have any experience from “in the trenches”?

Actually, none of my friends are dating guys from NYU. lol. I’m not.

Jimbo- my son is also straight and he is going to Tisch for acting- New Studio. Seems like there are a lot of smart and beautiful girls going to NYU next year. Good luck and be nice to them- lol!

I see a good number of couples on campus although I would say that most are single or have relationships outside of the school.

this is dumb, no one here knows you or if you’re ugly, creepy, stupid, or just weird - what are you expecting to find out? It’s college and it’s a metropolitan city, what else do you expect to learn?

I grew up in NY and lived in Greenwich Village before moving two years ago and I know some NYU students. The ratio of men to women is roughly 40:60, and from what I’ve heard around half of those guys are gay, so the straight men to straight women ratio is 20:60, so basically there’s 3 straight women for each straight man. In other words, if I get in when I apply this november, I’ll be packing my trojans.

^Wait, your statistics suggest that all the women at NYU are straight. Still, the odds are pretty good. LOL

…wow. You realize how many young male college grads with money there in New York, right?

There used to be a facebook group that was named, “Is he cute, or NYU cute?” basically emphasizing the fact that lots of NYU girls don’t date on campus, lol. I know Alix dates someone in Stern. But yeah, there is A LOT of competition, as woosah said. NYU is not an island and Manhattan is full of cute guys that don’t go to our school. So it won’t be a cakewalk.

I’ve dated a lot of guys who tell their moms that they are straight -

I love how this is the one thing you’re really concerned about. lol. Well, goodluck! :p

Damn straight, and I’m holding onto him because the odds of finding a nice straight guy at NYU are slim, and the odds of finding an attractive, pleasant guy in Stern is slim, so basically my guy’s a gem

And yeah, lots of NYU women turn to guys outside of our college, or other colleges (New School and Cooper Union are a 5 minute walk from the Square).

But yeah, your odds of getting a girl if you’re a straight guy here are pretty good. Although tbh, lots of college students aren’t looking for relationships, just hook-ups, especially freshmen/soph year from what I’ve seen.
