I was in the gifted program in my public elementary school and it was required that an IQ test be administered and a high score achieved to be accepted to this program. There were always things about MENSA popping up and now I just heard the name again. Apparently it's exclusive to people of high IQs lol... that doesn't make much sense to me because IQ has almost nothing to do with social intelligence.. are these conventions just rooms full of pretentious people? is there a real purpose? do you think a logic-based test can really put a stamp on intelligence? I remember being told to arrange a cube into a certain pattern and then tell what different pictures mean, almost like iphone games, and did get accepted to the gifted program with corresponding admittance scores of MENSA. I was, however, surrounded by the most genuinely intelligent kids in my entire school who really were brilliant both socially and intellectually. what do you think?
