I don't know why I keep getting letters and emails from University of Chicago. I'm talking an email a week and three letters a month. My ACT score is below 30 and my weighted gpa is not that good either (4.2). Can anyone explain this? I don't seem like the applicant they are looking for, yet they keep sending things. I do live in a suburb of Chicago too if that makes a difference.

(This should be the 2nd post…I’m not sure why it’s at the top of hte thread.)

The point is that UChicago wants to make sure any student who could potentially be a great fit or who could potentially fall in love with UChicago actually knows about the school or knows more about the school. Obviosuly, they don’t know specifically who these people are so many people get the mailings. But the hope is that at least one more person who would love UChicago or thrive at UChicago knows about the school.

I’m sure there are dozens of other schools I would love if I were there, but I don’t know about them. UChicago is making sure that people do know about them.

And the numbers aren’t everything, btw.
