Hey guys, I'm new here.
I'm interested in international affair and I want an MA in IR. I'm quite confused about the program. First of all, I'm an international students so I apologize for my bad English or any other stupid mistake.
I've been looking at a few grad school informations. Some schools, like Yale and Stanford have the IR program, but Berkeley and U'Chicago don't,(or I just couldn't find it) They have Public Policy program.
I'm not hoping to get into Yale or Stanford, or any top tier because I will graduate with around 3.3 over all gpa. I just want some guildline about the addmission requirements, althought I really like their programs. :' (
So I hope someone can explain it to me, and maybe provide other useful informations about IR program, thanks a lot :)

The short answer is: IR=foreign policy; public policy=domestic policy

Often at the master’s or doctoral evel in these program, a student will take a core set of courses and then courses related to a subspecialty. So, in IR programs, specialties might include particular world regions; international trade & finance; international security; etc. In public policy programs, subspecialties might include environmental policy; health policy; urban policy; public adminstration; etc. A few schools combine both international and domestic policy studies in the same school, e.g., the Woodrow Wilson School of Public & International Affairs.
