What's the dumbest reason you applied/didn't apply to a school?

<p>^ LMAO, I applied, but my parents flat out told me "If you get accepted to Harvard or Yale or Princeton or Duke, and Stanford, you will go to one of those schools. California is nuts."</p>

<p>haha</p>

<p>I decide not to apply to Johns Hopkins at the last minute because it didn't feel right....</p>

<p>i did not apply to princeton because it felt like a weird royalty school

i did not apply to Stanford cuz some indian at my school did, and i did not want to copy him
i did not apply to WUSTL because it seemed like a Nowhereville
i did not apply to GTech because most of the people in my school that did are annoying</p>

<p>I did apply to Vanderbilt because 'Vanderbilt' sounds pretentious and my stepmom is related to a dead chancellor
I did initally consider Brown because of social life
I did apply to Duke because my stepmom suggested it
I did not apply to Goucher because the name sounds gross
I did not apply to Cornell because it required SAT IIs and mine are bad
I did not apply to UChicago because the social life is bad</p>

<p>I threw away every Skidmore letter away because the name made me think of poop.
I didn't even consider Swarthmore because the name made me think of something ooky.
And I wouldn't apply to Cornell because I heard this joke about corn once, and every time I hear Cornell (Ever heard of it?) I think about that joke.</p>

<p>lol brown and skidmore apparently reminds ppl of poop</p>

<p>I didn't apply to the University of Delaware because I didn't want to spend fours years in the area of the Delaware Water Gap. That's about 160 miles and four states away. Didn't have google maps in those days.</p>

<p>I almost didn't apply to America (I'm an international student) because of how you have to share a room with someone in housing.</p>

<p>I applied to Tufts because of their freshman meal plan --> All you can eat, 24-7-365

<p>Applying to Colgate because it is free.
Not applying to UPenn because I had a party on the last night apps were due and went there instead of doing their essays.
Not applying to Dartmouth because I am not a fan of darts.

<p>I have to speak up...anyone who thinks St. Louis is the middle of nowhere has obviously never visited. :)</p>

<p>-Girl from St. Louis</p>

<p>Every school on my list required consideration for how the name would look on a shirt or sweater. Schools with really long names, awkward 'phraseage'/ambiguous pronunciation or more than two words in the name just didn't cut it. Also the athletic facilities had to be nice...I spend many a waking hour in the gym, on the track or otherwise.</p>

<p>I applied to Quinnipiac because they offer Criminology
I applied to Gettysburg because they waive the application fee for internationals.
I did not apply to prescott college, because they seemed to be too desperate to get my attention.
