What's the dumbest reason you applied/didn't apply to a school?

"I did not apply to macalester, because they required too many essays."

Two?

^ Three for internationals. And my third essay would have turned out pretty lame[so would have been my why macalester essay for that matter], so I thought I let it be and save some money.

I didn't apply to Witt because I don't like any of the people I know currently attending the college, I didn't apply to UK because the way they did their fee was stupid and my stepsister is going there, I didn't apply to Miami because I didn't feel like getting a portfolio together (I spent 2-3 months working on a portfolio for another school, but it didn't fit Miami's specifications). I didn't apply to any schools more than 2 hours away because my boyfriend asked me not to.

I didn't WANT to apply to the University of Cincinnati because everyone in my family it seems went there at one point, and it's too close to home. It also always seemed like that "easy" school because my older sister got in (her grades sucked).... then I realized they are number two in my major in the nation (only behind Harvard). So I ended up applying and I'll go there if I get in. Damn.

ha ha i didn't apply to many schools coz of the essays that i had to write

I didn't apply to Tufts because of its reputation as a school of Ivy League rejects.

I ALMOST completely wrote of UChicago because I heard second-hand that the students there were miserable. Then, in October of this year I actually researched the school myself, fell in love with the school, and realized that the "where fun goes to die" thing is a bit of a self-depricating shirt, and whoever told me that people there had NO fun had heard that bit and taken it seriously.

I almost didn't apply to Brown cause it's a ten-minute drive from home o_0. this still bothers me, but I got over it.

yeah i have no good reasons lol

didn't apply to manhattan college because oddly enough, they aren't located in manhattan.

I wanted to apply to Swarthmore because in 8th grade a total stranger said it'd be perfect for me. I didn't because my mother mentioned once that east coast private schools are full of wealthy snobs.

I wanted to apply to Macalester because they have a red plaid shield as a logo and are the "Fighting Scots". I didn't because freshmen can't live in the language houses and the admissions counselor looked at me funny when I said what most excited me was Mac Soup.

I wanted to apply to Dickinson because the viewbook was awesome and mentioned the president's round glasses. I didn't because it was too far away to visit.

I only visited Shimer because my mom made me. It's the only school I applied to. I got a call from the admissions counselor when I got in, and I went dancing through the halls at school. I've been here for a semester now, and it's just right.
And...I never did remember to pay the application fee.

I didn't apply to Reed because I felt bad about bugging one of my teachers for another recommendation.
