What's the dumbest reason you applied/didn't apply to a school?

I’m from Canada but I didn’t apply to any Canadian schools because the version of football played up here isn’t real football. However I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place, since my parents are afraid that if I go to an American school I’d end up dead in a ditch somewhere and the furthest school they would let me go to is SUNY-Buffalo.

I didnt apply to Dartmouth and Cornell because they were in the middle of nowhere, and I was afraid I would get claustrophobic being in a little town ><.
I applied to Columbia because it was in a big city (now I don’t like Columbia at all)
I applied to UChicago and I still dont know why I applied…
I applied to Duke and completely forgot I even applied there.
I didn’t apply to Yale because it’s in a bad neighborhood.

I wish I could redo my college applications because I would have applied to Dartmouth and Yale; and I would have not applied to Columbia, Duke, and UChicago.

I applied to Goucher without visiting, and when I visited I first decided I would go there because the admissions office had a fountain outside and stained glass in the windows, and it was “Humans vs. Zombies” week. Then I found out that their mascot was the Gophers… no thanks.

When I first visited American I wanted to leave because the admissions office smelled weird, but my parents made me stay and I ended up applying, and now I’m going there next year.

Didn’t apply to any of the Ivies because I had no shot there.

Didn’t want to apply to UGeorgia because all of my friends are going there and I’m not a huge bulldogs fan. Funny how I got accepted there, but I ain’t going.
Didn’t apply to any schools that required the SAT II because there were no surrounding cities in stupid rural Georgia that administered them :frowning:
Didn’t apply to Yale in particular because:
1)see reasons for Not applying to ivy league schools
2) see reasons for not applying to schools that require SAT II
3) Even though my favorite TV anchor,Anderson Cooper, went there, Yale really=George Dubya:(
there now i’m done :)

I didn’t apply to any schools that have the color red in the school colors. My high school had red as a school color and I hated high school. I guess that’s kind of superstition. Actually, when I signed onto the school I’m at now I didn’t realize their accent color was red (black, yellow, red). I’m transferring. (No, not because of the color.)

Williams, Amherst, Middlebury, and Bowdoin because of the settings, seemed similar to Dart
USC because she’s a NMSF so could have gotten half tuition there (even though she never visited but hated everything she read about it)

Which brought the grand total to 12 schools!
and ps: she got into Dartmouth
