IU is my top school, and I just got invited for an audition on campus for this november! I just have a lot of questions regarding the program and statistics. I’ve seen some things about the program, but I want to really know more.
If anyone knows any details about the program or can answer my questions, let me know! I’d really appreciate that
how many students apply with a prescreen every year?
how many do they allow to audition on campus?
if you audition in november, will you find out sooner about admission?
is the dance call difficult? (i've only had about 3 months of dance training)
@kwheel_2019 My S is in the IUMT program. Turned down NYU among others to attend Indiana. Very impressed with the program. Can’t answer your first two questions as the numbers and process change a bit each year. In the past, no acceptances until after all auditions. I believe my son got the call in early March. At his February audition there were probably 50-75 kids? The dance call was pretty easy in that they look for how well you carry yourself. You might totally mess up, but if you exude confidence and don’t get flustered, you will do well. I will say that it is a small enough program…12-15 in each class…that the kids really get alot of attention and numerous opportunities. Casting director visited last week; several kids participated in a workshopped show on Broadway last year, Masters classes, numerous performance opportunities, and lots of great dining for the parents in Bloomington!! Break a leg!!
