I'm taking it and I'm nervous. Is it really that important? I mean, I'm also taking the US and English SAT, but is Math better? Should I focus more on Math in studying, even though its my weak test, or should I work to do really well on the others?

Basically, does doing well on the Math II really matter when you applying for a non-technical or non-science program?

No it really doesn’t. Math II would be important for someone who’s going to major in math/science.

If your major involves more English, then definitely study for the English SAT II a lot more.

While doing well on Math II will show your versatility, doing well in English is way more important.

While you should ideally study in order to do as well as possible in each subject, the answer to your question depends on the schools you have in mind. I can’t think of name(s) off the top of my head, but there’s at least one top-twenty university that requires the Math II subject test as a part of a student’s application. If you’re not applying to a school where the Math II exam is required and if you’re confident that you can do extremely well on the History and English exams but can’t do anything to score highly on Math II, then you should cut your losses. Go ahead and take all three tests, but focus on USH and English. Just omit the Math II score from your applications.

Why even take the Math II subject test?

If you are already planning on taking two subject tests, there is no reason to take a third unless you have your heart set on Georgetown. (is G-town now the only college that requires three?)

That said, if you feel you can perform well on the Math subject test, a solid score will only bolster your application.

I am planning to apply to Georgetown
