What's the likelihood of a transfer student getting financial aid?

It doesn't look like Wash U will go to its waitlist this year. Therefore, if my d, who is waitlisted, goes to a state school for one year, then applies as a transfer student to Wash U, what are her chances for financial aid? When does the WUSTL adcom consider transfer applications - after the freshman applications? If so, is all the financial aid money gone by that time?

I'm a newly admitted transfer student and I received absolutely no financial aid. I'm currently debating with my parents about whether or not to call and "discuss" my situation in an attempt to get some money out of them. To be fair, my family had an unusually high income last year, so I can totally understand why I wasn't given any need-based aid. And as for scholarships-they're only offered if you attended a St. Louis area comm. college or are a member of the comm. college honor society.

i got a Thomas Eliot scholarship which I think it based off of academic merit, and then formulated based off of your need. Im not sure...

That's odd transferer, I don't see anything like that listed as scholarships for transfer students...lucky you :)
