I will be taking APUSH this upcoming school year and I’ve heard that the APUSH curriculum got redesigned in fall 2014. What’s different about it compared to the old APUSH curriculum? Will online videos about APUSH such as Crash Course U.S. History with John Green still be helpful?
After taking the new APUSH exam, I think the difference is that the test is more geared towards applying content rather than just knowing it. All of the questions had reading passages to go along with them and the essays stress that you offer a new “idea” (for lack of a better term), rather than just spewing out information.
The crash course videos are still very helpful in my opinion.
Last year our APUSH teacher played Crash Course videos every time we ended a unit. Can’t say how effective it was on me as I got a 2 on the exam The test I got was dubbed a bit harder than what was released on CB. Like said above, synthesis’ are pretty emphasized with outside knowledge.
