I'm a sophomore in AP Euro right now, and I am planning to take AP US history next year, I read up on some of the changes, like a shorter multiple choice and a short answer and only 1 FRQ, but what else will be different, will the busy work be more or less in general for the class, is it going to be more or less content than before, does anybody know anything about this?

Yeah this has caught my eye as well. From what I read, the entire course is undergoing a complete overhaul, whether for the good or bad I don’t know. I read an article outlining the basic changes, and the writers weren’t happy with the new APUSH framework. The College Board’s document explaining all of this mainly makes changes to the exam in these ways:

-Multiple Choice portion: Used to be 80 questions on broad range of topics, now 55 questions with a supposedly narrower range of questions. New framework gives less weight to MC and more to other portions

-MCs are followed by 4 short answer questions, which you’re given 45 min. to complete, followed by a 1 hour DBQ, and finishing with a long essay question by choosing a question to answer, this portion 35 minutes.

In addition, the coursework itself will now be oriented around 7 “Thematic Learning Objectives”: Identity, [Work, Exchange, and Technology], Peopling, Politics and Power, America in the World, Environment and Geography (Physical and Human), and [Ideals, Beliefs, and Culture]. Basically a big facelift to what students conceive as APUSH. And now the entire cache of materials available, be it prep books, College Board sample questions, practice examinations, etc., will now be completely different and oriented around a new structure. Whether or not the course will be easier, it’s probably too soon to say. I myself am going into APUSH this fall, and I’m quite unsure about what these changes mean, but that’s what I know.
