I have tried to access the Swarthmore website from multiple computers and have failed each and every time in the last few days, while all other sites work fine. I'm sorry this may seem kind of irrelevant but I wasn't sure If anyone knows if the website itself has had networking problems or if it is temporarily shut down or what have you...

I would greatly appreciate if anyone had any info on why the website is down, if perhaps it works fine for you; in which case I am going insane :P, or if you know when the website will be back up.

wow that is really strange, its not working at all. I was planning to find the page discussing times swarthmore has tours, when the admissions office is open, a calender of events etc.

This is haverford’s page to give you an idea of what I’m talking about.

Thanks daffymom, do you think you would be able to copy/paste the equivalent to the haverford website above onto the discussion board? If not, I will just try again tomorrow, perhaps I will go to the library to try on yet another computer
(maybe it is something with our home internet connection on just the Swarthmore website: they are trying to keep me away :P)

Yea for some reason no link to anywhere on the Swarthmore website works for me (including those ones; i just tried). Thanks anyways! I wasn’t sure if it was a network problem, but now that I know it isn’t I think I’ll just go to the library tomorrow.

Where are you from, dpt620? There have been cases of national bans in the past, but it seems unlikely. Can you access say, daily.swarthmore.edu or sccs.swarthmore.edu? They are on the same domain, but hosted on separate servers, so it might help isolate the issue.

I live in upstate New York so it shouldn’t be a problem. I actually got it working today at my house so I don’t really know what was the problem since all other web pages were working fine. Well, Thanks for your help anyways!

Check your Web browser options. Perhaps pop-ups are disabled or something of that sort. Swarthmore website might have something in there (requiring perhaps flash player or something, I am just guessing) that does not allow your web browser to show the page.
