Within 30 seconds, I've encountered two horribly misleading ads in support of Prop 8 on this site.

The first has a picture of McCain and Obama and says "At least they agree on something.....marriage is between a woman and a man." And that is correct. HOWEVER, Obama does NOT favor a constitutional ban, in any form, on gay marriage.

The second ad states that "Prop 8 protects traditional marriage and your child's education." I am so sick of hearing how if Prop 8 is passed, kids will be taught about gay marriage in school blah blah blah. Prop 8 DOESN'T mention education at all! It just says that the California constitution will be modified to read "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California."

It's total BS. I'd have a lot more respect for people in support of prop 8 if they didn't have such garbage and misleading ads. I kinda have a problem with the little discrimination thing, too.

Yeah it's really ****ed me off seeing misleading ads on tc and hearing them on the radio every day. The "Yes"ers are trying to shift the focus to education of "marriage" instead of how it eliminates basic constitutional rights.

^i live in ca, but i honestly do not know which way it is leaning (someone else might).

it's been such a huge issue this past month with millions of dollars spent on advertising. me and my friends once had a debate outside of class about it :p

There's a vote on an amendment to ban gay marriage in the constitution in Florida. I know what the outcome will be. People make me sickkkkkkkkk.
