I'm currently deciding between two schools: Georgetown College (for Philosophy & Government or possibly Literature) and Barnard College (for Philosophy and Poli Sci or possibly Literature).

At the moment, I'm leaning towards Georgetown.

So, to rephrase the question... is there anything important I should keep in mind or any reservations I should have about Georgetown before putting in my deposit? Broadly, is there anything wrong with it?

I figure, if I'm fine with most of the supposed "downside" to Georgetown (knowing that there is always a downside to every university), then I'll be pretty confident about my decision.

Apparently the on-campus food is “average” and the off-campus is excellent but expensive. Other than that, I can’t think of much else that I’ve heard that bothers me.

Oh, and there’s no parking situation, so be prepared to walk (or take the free Gtown shuttle) to the off-campus Metro station

the school is very single-minded towards politics. I felt bad on preview as a business applicant. Even the tour of campus was predominately a discussion of political science and foreign service.

Oh wow, Tiramisu, I am having the EXACT same problem. Right now, I’m leaning towards Barnard becuase they will give me a year of credit for my diploma, and I just found out that Gtown has no photography club and darkroom access is only available if I am an art major or in a class.

Georgetown has a photography club. I live next to the president. They just got started this year, but things are looking good for them. And there are great photography opportunities in DC. This president guy spent all of inauguration, for example, taking pictures for his home paper in Germany.
