Centre College? I've been researching it and the place seems great.

Strong academics, diverse extracurricular opportunities, qualified faculty, extremely high quality of life, and some of the most loyal alumni in the nation, and yet, Centre is not even listed in the Alphabetical List of Colleges.

Is there something I don't know about the college? The more I learn about the college, the more I fall in love with it. One thing that clearly is a mark against it is the location. Kentucky is a very dubious location for most students in the North East. But the college seems like a wonderful place.

Centre has a lot going for it - good academics, small class sizes, "Centre Commitment" of study abroad and internship, great performances at the Norton center, pretty town and countryside, merit aid, awesome student center (former hemp warehouse). Don't know why it doesn't get more interest - it's ranked pretty well by US News. Daughter and I visited last summer, but she found other colleges that interested her more. But Centre is well worth investigating!

That's what I'm wondering. Centre College gets no recognition on this board and hardly anywhere except for the Fiske guide. It's not even listed in the site here.

It might just be that Kentucky doesn't get much respect here. There's not much discussion of other Kentucky colleges/universities here. Ohio - yes. Tennessee - yes. Kentucky - no.
