What's your allowance?

Mine is 15 bucks a week. But my mom's really strict so last week i got 0 :(

I don’t get allowance.

I don’t get regular allowance. Occasionally, ten to twenty bucks.

0, get a job ya lazy bum

I get $600 dollars a month, but my mom wants me to learn responsibility so I have to pay for my phone, cable, internet(I live in an attached apartment at the house, and she covers the water and electricity), cell phone, and car insurance in addition to things like gas and entertainment.

I get 0 from my parents even though they pay for necessities and also really anything for school. They will also give me extra cash if I’m going out but that’s usually just a little. I work 2 jobs (1 is a summer job and the other is year round) and during the summer I make around $1500 a month. While that is a lot of money I also work around 35 hours a week.

I don’t have a job and don’t get regular allowance, but if I say I’m going to the movies they’ll give me money. If I have to get a book, I’ll get money. And so on.

I don’t get one. I have a job but it doesn’t pay very much so they end up buying a lot of my stuff.

if I really want something, I can ask my parents. I almost never ask for things, so they usually give it to me :)

None, but I do get paid for mowing the lawn as well as anything that I sell on Amazon

I get about 10-20 dollars every month or two. But I’m Chinese, so I get over $100 on Chinese New Year! :)

^ I get money on Vietnamese New Year. :)

I don’t get any. If I want money, I just have to ask for it. $15 a week is not bad though! :)

I don’t have an allowance, since I have a job :). But, my parents still pay for things I need (like school supplies) because my job doesn’t pay a lot.

^^^I sometimes get money on Eid :)

also, allowance, jeez, what are we, middle school kids who are spoiled rotten by their parents? I do get money, but I get $20/week for a combination of babysitting my brother, doing all the laundry, cleaning, dealing with dishes, and I have a job on top of that. so TL;DR: I earn what I get.

benfster, what do you sell?

wow, i thought more people would have allowances.

@Penguin; At least you admitted it, hehe.

But no, I do know what you’re saying. I just have a soft spot for kids who get money for nothing (or get things that they want for nothing), because that doesn’t teach them how to handle it responsibly and gives the idea that in life, money is just given to you for free.

Which I think is sad for everyone involved.

@Bassoon; because not everyone has parents that throw money at them thinking it does good.

lol I have to do chores to get money
elleya
you cray cray

I actually wasn’t implying YOUR parents throw money at you, although I can’t imagine ‘chores’ are too hard.

But like, parents who just give their kids money to buy stuff (I mean, if you say something like, “Hey, i’m going to the movies with some friends, I don’t have cash atm/i’m a little short, can you help me out? I’ll pay you back.” that’s perfectly fine), tsk tsk shame on them.
