It seems like those who go to Emory College view Oxford as a backdoor and don't give a damn what those atOxford say to justify that it isn't.

Want to hear people from Emory College (acceptees or students) on this, as I know the Oxford students would go on and on about how their school is harder, better community, one-on-one with professor, blah blah.

So the ultimate question is, do you consider Oxford students to be true Emory students?

When I graduated from Emory 25 years ago, we considered Oxford more as a school for those who were not quite ready for the rigors of a school of Emory’s caliber. At the time, most students were small town southern kids. Obviously, this has changed over the years. What percent of Oxford students would choose Oxford over Emory if they were accepted to both schools and if the financial situation was the same? I think this will answer your question.

^okay breaking the rules here I am an Oxford student and I have met a couple of people here who were accepted to go to Emory but chose Oxford for the main reasons that the OP put down.

I think it’s a backdoor.
For every one person who chose oxford over emory, there are 10 who did the opposite.
Personally I think the acceptance requirements should be tougher. But it makes sense…Atlanta is a more desirable location than 40 miles out of Atlanta. Oxford probably wouldn’t have enough enrollment if it made admission requirements tougher because very few people want to live in some rural place(I’m not sure but I assume it’s rural) when they have the stats to go to nd, vandy, emory, etc.

Keep in mind that emory is still gaining recognition and oxford will have to become harder to get into as years pass
