What's Your Summer Job?

mine, hate to say it, but a telemarketer. yup. the only reason i'm doing it is because it hired me the same day and since i'm bilingual i get paid $9.40/hr. can't really beat that. i couldn't get my old summer job as a cashier for $8.30/hr, so telemarketing was the best alternative. i got offered a job at sears and home depot but they pay $6 something/hr. what the hell? i need 2k to give to stanford by sept., so random people that don't want to talk to me, here i come....

Tutoring at Kumon. $6/hour :(. But I sub a lot (like tomorrow) and signed up for mad (9...) hours/week over the summer. Which means something like $60-70 per week. The only reason I stay here is cause my "coworkers" are all from my school and we have a blast NOT tutoring.

cashier at a clothing store. w00t w00t!

Digging holes for fence posts for $10 an hour.

i was a telemarketer too!!!!! for one day. then i quit. it wasnt a bad job because it was easy and comfortable and kind of fun (in a demented way) but i quit because i found out that the product i was telemarketing was some sort of scam. (i found this out because one of the ppl we called said that she had gotten an email about us, so i googled the product and sure enough there were all these articles about it) if you have a sensitive conscience (like i do) research whatever you're going to sell so you don't feel like crap over the people you tricked (like i do)
:(

Science Intern, I get to do scientific research... for 9 bucks an hour... wow. I thought a job like this would pay better =(

Yeah, I'm a lab assistant but I get paid min. wage so don't be complainin'!! :)

science intern...a volunteering one, so I don't get paid :(

CVS 8.50, independent research on diabetes( creating and distributing surveys, etc), volunteer at hospital( non paid), and courses at Cold Spring Harbor.

Day Trader

The pay is awesome, and if I feel like taking a day off, well then I can.

landscaping/housesitting $75.00 total for 2 weeks

intern $175/day

kinglin, I thought you weren't getting paid...

I'm interning at a law firm, I think the pay is $12/hr, but I haven't gotten my paycheck yet so I'm not sure. Most of the day I just go on cc so it's pretty sweet.

yeah, i'm telemarketing on behalf of a telephone company (wont say which one). the only good thing is i get to call CURRENT customers of the company, not random random people.

Law firm... haven't gotten the paycheck yet but it's either 10 or 12 an hour, but most likely 10

Well I wasn't getting paid at that computer repair job. Day Trading is just something I've always enjoyed doing, and do very well at. I always thought of Day Trading as a hobby, but apparently it's a job.

And now that I don't work 9hr days there, I can go back to sitting in front of two lcds and a tv with cnbc on it from 9:30-3 again :D

Lifeguard @ 7.21 hr. or a Water safty Instructor @ 8.93 hr.

Science Research Assistant...minimum wage or w/e $200/wk (36 hr. wk.) equates to...

document shuffling at firm for big hazmat contamination suits. interesting, fun people, good hours.....good pay but costs me more to live and work than I make.
