So as a freshman, I just realized how F1s and internationals are basically blocked from certain jobs altogether. For example, Boeing doesnt offer ANYTHING to internationals in the US - internships or jobs.

Its getting harder and harder with time. What thoughts do you have about this?Any way around it?

Most internships allow international students, because it comes under OPT and the companies don’t need to sponsor and stuff.
Other than that, try applying for internships in other countries, with easier work laws.

Getting engineering/comp sci internships has been very tough this year for anyone, not just international students. Large high tech companies have significantly reduced # of interns this year. When these companies bring in interns the intention is to eventually hire them when they graduate. So, when there is deep hiring freeze, hiring managers are unable to get interns even if they really need some cheap labour do the grunt work.

After a year, you can apply for internships!!
