NY daughter has applied RD to NYU, Fordham, BU, and Syracuse. I submitted the CSS back in November. SHe won't get an admission decision from any of the schools until mid to late march. Will the schools notify me letting me know if and when I need to submit forms to IDOC? When and how does that happen?

You still need to send in your 2011 information on the CSS. More than likely what you will do is print off your previous form, cross through the wrong info and write in the correct info and fax it to each of your schools. You should verify with your schools however, but if they don’t reply, it would be better to go ahead. I don’t know if you have already missed the deadlines for the correct information submission. Collegeboard should have sent you a mail early this month telling you what to send to them for IDOC and when.

Not all schools require the IDOC. The school will inform you if they need/want it. My daughter applied to 8 schools and only one requested IDOC. I did update css with 2011 tax info.

From this list it looks like BU and Syracuse require the IDOC. All the schools that I have dealt with require the IDOC by March 1. I assume you have already filed your FAFSA? All your schools require it.

Check each schools website to see if they require anything else. Some want taxes sent directly to the school.

We got an email from IDOC with an id number. You can’t do anything without the number (or password, can’t remember). They send email based on whether a school on CSS list requires IDOC.

Actually you can sign in to IDOC with just the students SS# and birth date (in case you lost your CSS ID #) Here:

Yes, that’s right, but you have to have been issued an ID for it to work. Good way to check if email has been sent but lost.
