When and how many times to take the LSAT

Hi, I know this has probably been asked before, but I was wondering 2 things:
1: When should I take the LSAT? I plan to go to law school immediately after undergrad, so around what time should I take the test in order to do so?
2: How many times should I take the LSAT? I’ve heard that law schools will take the average of your scores rather than just the highest one. If this is the case then would it be wiser to hold off until a later date to take the LSAT to give myself more time to prepare?
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

  1. Don't go to law school immediately after undergrad. Go work a bit first. Make sure you get some experience with what the practice of law is actually like before you commit to law school.
  2. Schools take the highest LSAT, so have at it. You're limited to 3 tries in a 5 year period though, so you should make sure to study adequately beforehand.
