When applying for winter session, what GPA will they see?

I think the applications are due at the end of July? So what GPA will they look at? I am going to be taking summer classes and then still have the Fall session grades. Will all of those be looked at or just what was taken before I sent my application in? It's kind of important to me bc I have taken hardly any GE classes yet so my GPA is deflated due to me taking a lot of the classes for my major so far.

bump…

they will see thru fall 09 only. the UCs do not calculate in winter grades (for the winter b4 transfer)

Actually, that’s wrong, CalBearGuy. I think you’re misunderstanding the question and thinking of fall transfers. Little_Duck is asking about winter transfers.

Little_Duck: For those applying for winter 2011, the final graded period that will be viewed will be any courses taking during summer 2010 before a decision is made. The update period to include these summer grades as well as any alterations to your fall schedule (if you’re taking fall classes) will be available towards the end of summer (I forget the exact date it appeared).

However, summer classes are, of course, not required so for those not taking them, the final graded period viewed before a decision is made will be spring 2010. The update period will allow you to also indicate what, if any, courses you are taking in fall 2010. Decisions are available around the beginning of October from what I recall.

The filing period (for those UCs accepting winter transfers) will be from July 1-31.

oh yeah im sorry, I read that competely differently, my baddd

Ok. So they will know what fall classes I will be taking but the grades I get in those classes will not be factored into my GPA?

that really sucks, my gpa is going to blow bc of that. i was planning on taking a bunch of classes i needed during that semester to boost it.
