When applying to UCs...

Do you send in your transcript before the deadline? Some tell me that you send it later, though I have my doubts.
I'm from OOS, by the way.

You send your FINAL transcript after you graduate. You must send test scores and SAT Subject test scores ASAP. They will take results through the December test. Do not wait until the 11-30 to file your application. Last year over 100 students waited and because of delays online, their apps didn't get through before midnight on the 30th. File as early as possible.

So all you need is send the part that you can do online- high school doesn't have to send anything out to them? Oh, and do you have to send SAT scores to each school within the system? (I'm assuming so, but just want to be sure)

You have to send the application and your SAT scores (not your transcript, recs, etc.).

November SAT scores will be back on the 20th. If you have a test from this month's date, you can submit your application as soon as you get the score(s) that's what I'm doing. If you're taking a test on the December date, make sure you pay for the campuses not included for free to send your test scores to. Ok, that was a badly put together sentence. Ex. - My December scores will be sent to UCLA, UCB, UCSD, and UCD for free. But because I'm applying to UCR, UCSB, and UCSC too, I had to pay to make sure my scores will be sent to those campuses.

then how do UCs know my gpa..?

you enter all your a-g classes and grades into the online app, and the Big Computer In The Sky will calculate your gpa.

How do the UCs know your GPA, you tell them. You self report your grades. Once you are accepted, they will require your school send your final transcript. If it doesn't match what you reported, or your senior year you let those grades slip too much, they will rescind your admission.

oh ok...that makes sense...thank you...so until i get accepted...my high school does not have to do anything??

Yes, they don't take recommendations or your transcript until after you enroll.
