So a couple of my friends have been accepted for Biomedical Engineering… I haven’t… Should I lose hope or is there still a chance to be accepted into a program which they’ve already released some admissions?

@SoCalTransfer they take sick pleasure in our misery. I would rather know right away if I got rejected so I don’t have all this false hope :(

@megank: I wonder how the people in admin they would feel if they had to go through this…
@hope2transfer: What are your stats?

@soCalTransfer: I’m from Southern CA too (OC) what CC do you go to? And my stats are all over the place because I went to a private school my freshman year… so I really don’t know. I have around a 3.5 from CC but once all my not-so-good grades from last year are factored in it’s lower. I’m just not sure how they will look at me, especially if a computer is making the decisions? What about you?

I go to Palomar College in San Diego. Oh I gotcha. It is very stressful to try and figure out the logic with the acceptances. I swear this website and the Cal Poly web-portal have become my life the past two weeks. I applied for Journalism. I have a 3.7 GPA and I will have 66 units at the end of this semester and I completed all of my major requirements. I also have about 11 hours of volunteer work per week as well as working about the same. I also was in a leadership position.

Oh okay yeah I actually went to college in San Diego last year. I’m with you on the logic behind this thing. You have good stats so looks like you have a good chance. If only they would update our portals so we can know already! So stressful…

gumby & applecinnamon, what are your stats?

Does anybody know if Cal Poly has a certain time of day they update the portal regarding admission status?

I called today. They say they will be releasing decisions up until April 1st. No particular order. Just depends on how many apps they get in a particular major.

Any more liberal arts/poly sci kids in?

Is there a time of day when they update our portals?

Wait so if we don’t hear by March 1st chances of rejection are high?

Got in for biochem!! I am too happy right now, I had been checking my portal almost every hour for the past 2-3 weeks…

daphne209, when did you find out.

@ cuestatransfer:

3.3 GPA at time of application
All major requirements and GE will be done by the end of this semester
70 semester units by end of this semester
Trying to transfer from CSULB (which I know gives me even less of a chance since it is not a CCC, but I decided to go for it anyway 'cause what is there really to lose?)

well as comforting as this is or isn’t… i’m @ cuesta college, 70+ credits, IGETC and CSUGE certified, w/ a 3.53 GPA and i haven’t heard anything either.

two of my friends, one had a 3.47 other a 3.3X were accepted last week. However they had last names beginning with “C”. It appears that they are going alphabetically, and by some sort of major rotation.

cam8071, I found out today at around 5pm

I’m tired of reading this…

Thank you for applying to Cal Poly. We have received your application. No determination has been made at this time.

@cuestatransfer: what are your friends majoring in that got accepted with c last names?

^ LOL

Me too. It kind of pains me, as I applied 3 years ago only to get rejected. This time around I’m far more competitive, but I’m still so nervous. UGHHHHHH…

The only thing I say to calm myself at this point is that transfer students typically find out later than high school seniors and my major is impacted.

They were Business Admin majors. I’m quite baffled at the fact that i have a much higher GPA, and have 2 extra calculus courses, and an AA on top of the GE stuff…

**EDIT

I know a girl, transfer, who got into Poly with a “D” last name as well, for Journalism. don’t know her stats tho…
