WHITE MALE FROM LI

so excited and surprised..... I was waitlisted from Colby and Bates, but I don't care because Midd is my number one

Accepted

This is my first post (as you can tell) so I'm not totally sure what to post for stats, so here's info that I find relevant.

SAT: 2390 (V:790/M:800/W:800)
GPA: 102.2 cumulative (weighted, not sure how that translates to 4-point scale)
Class rank: 1/about 400
White male from PA
EC's: school paper, nationally-placing quiz bowl team, sound crew for school theater productions, active at church

Anything I missed?

Rejected.

WAITLISTED :(

White Female from CT
ECs: various leadership positions, awards, dont really feel like listing

waitlist sucks so much ive already been waitlisted at 4 schools and i think i should have gotten in to some of them

kat, me, too. will you keep your spot? how many waitlists will you stay on, and is Midd your first choice?

Accepted!

As for my stats, it's probably easiest to look in one of my various other threads, but some basics...

Rank: school doesn't, but top 10%
GPA: 3.889ish UW, something lots higher W.
SAT: 2360 (760 math); 790 USH, 750 Bio (M), 720 (MathIIC)
Recs: 1 teacher+1 counselor that're at least good, 1 that was a "best-student-i've-ever-had" type of thing
Hook?: I'm going to represent the US in an international competition over the summer. I work teaching science to elementary school kids in a really fun way. Etc.
White female from the Bay Area, CA.

Excited!!!! ...but now I've gotta start deciding between schools. Uh oh. :)

Congrats everyone, and good luck to those on the waitlist who decide to stay!

Congratulations to everyone who was accepted! If anyone has questions regarding anything Middlebury, feel free to PM me and I'd be happy to try and assist you!

Another waitlisted applicant :(
Guys how do I remain on the waiting list?? Is it by sending email saying that I am still interested? I am an international btw...

I think I'm going to keep my spot. I'm waiting to hear from Amherst and Williams first, though I'm not sure about my shot at those two.

Waitlisted:
Rank: School doesn't rank, but top 10%
GPA:96 UW/101 W
SAT: 1460/2180
Recs: 1 really good, the other pretty decent. Guidance one was pretty generic, though.
Hook?: None, apparently! =)
White female from the Long Island, New York.

By the way:

Rank: School doesn't rank, but top decile, whatever that means
GPA: 3.78 UW
SAT: 1400/2060 (meh, I know), 700 on Physics and Literature
Recs: One awesome, one generically "glowing" (didn't help or hurt), guidance one good.
Hook: I got in touch with a coach there..he was impressed with my stats, apparently and vouched for me. Definitely what got me in.
ECs: Sports, duh, state-level singer, church involvement, so on and so on.
White male from upper NJ

This is for accepted, by the way. The sports did it, but don't think poorly of me! I work damn hard at sports, and I don't think I did too bad in school either.

S2 accepted.
GPA: 3.97 UW (TOP 3 %)
SAT: CR 770, M 800, WR 760; MIIC 780, USH 780, BIO 770
International, happy with great FA.

Accepted!

SAT: 1100
ACT: 20
extracurrics: SOWING CLUB

Accepted

2210/1460
3.85
Not even in the top 10%

cilyboi, you must have had an amazing gpa and stuff. im surprised (but happy) that you got in!

i was rejected...

3.4UW
top 40%
28ACT
lots of ECs with the arts and foreign languages.

im not surprised. my "numbers" weren't nearly high enough, but i was otherwise very much a fit for midd. i have an interest in foreign languages and intl affairs, and my interviewer even said "youre the kind of person that should be at middlebury."

oh well :/

it was my dream school too..

S was rejected, great SAT scores and a GPA that didn't show his potential. Congrats to all who got in, and have fun!

Accepted!

4.0 UW 4.5 W
2170 SAT
Top 3%
SATII:
800 French
800 Spanish
750 Bio

10 APs: Spanish, Spanish Lit, French, BC Calc, AB Calc, Biology, Macroecon, Microecon, English Lang, English Lit

I speak French and Spanish, and I take Chinese (will major in Chinese most likely) Middlebury has amazing languages, I can't wait!

Clearly ciliboy is a joke. hahah.

rejected.

Probably for the better because if accepted I would have been so torn. When I visited being on the campus felt like another world...it was so nice, and Vermont as a whole seemed so nice, but in reality I don't think I would have fit with the campus culture--too mainstream. So, another decision I don't have to make for myself I guess.

All I can say is I am so glad I applied ED to this school, they accepted a way higher percent. RD has been brutal (at colleges everywhere - most of my amazing, smart friends are getting hurt).

Looking at people's stats, seems like acceptances/waitlists/rejections had to end up being assigned pretty arbitrarily. So huge congratulations to those who got in - hopefully I'll see you in the fall - and thank your lucky stars! Good luck to everyone else, obviously it's no reflection on you personally, just on a crazy admissions season.
