I didn’t understand the Dir. of Housing suggesting a lottery; my S applied for housing, with a preference for I-House. I didn’t realize it was subject to lottery, I thought housing was assigned
They have to assign it in some order, but if he has a preference for I House he should get it. I’ll caveat this with everything will be different this year with housing. My DD was thinking they would use I House as the quarantine facility…
Thanks @CU123 If they use I-House for quarantine, I’ll be happy! I’d prefer he be closer to the action, or lack thereof!
Actually you had to specify that you intend to return to on-campus housing in the fall. What the housing director actually said was that all second years who specified that they intended to return to dorms would get rooms. My son just received his house lottery notice this evening and my guess is that everyone else did too. If you didn’t request, you will need to secure off-campus housing for the fall.
The rule is that you return to the house you were in for Winter quarter last year, Or you can go to the sister house in WRC. IHouse will probably not be the sick ward this year.
My son received his notice a little while ago. He has to return to his House or to Westlawn - hes set on going to I-House!
ummmm, Woodlawn?
Ooops! Yes, Woodlawn
I think West Lawn is a cemetery
Sister house in WRC? What is that? I didn’t know Linn-Mathews or Chamberlin were related to the 11 houses in WRC.
Actually I think it was supposed to be sibling not sister LOL. It’s a house over in the new dorm that’s assigned to be a sibling to your current house. But actually, my son told me his housing lottery notice specified that he could choose any house in WRC so maybe they aren’t offering sibling houses this year.
